I once had a friend from Mississippi who had a friend. Whenever this friend of a friend would finish eating a delicious, satisfying meal he would lean back in his chair, stretch his arms, pat himself on the stomach and say "I'm feeling fat and sassy." I fell in love with the phrase. It seemed to fit so perfectly with that supremely satisfying feeling one has after eating. You might experience a slight stupor, a slowing down of thoughts. The contentment you feel after eating something truly tastey is a contentment unto it's own. You feel your body simultaneously slowing down and energizing up.
A similar strain of contentment, one that I feel is the sister to "eating contentment", is that of "cooking contentment." I find explicit joy in not only eating, but creating delicious meals. I read cookbooks for fun and lust over kitchen appliances. I do not pretend to be an expert. Far from that, actually. This will be more a compilation of experiments than recipes. My goal here is to create, simple, delicious meals that leave people feeling fat and sassy in all the good ways.
